Flex.io reserves the right to alter, modify, update, add to, subtract from or otherwise change this Privacy Policy at any time for any reason or no reason at all. Acceptance

We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. Please read the following Privacy Policy carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your information and how we will treat it. Your use of the Service indicates that you have read and accepted Flex.io’s privacy practices, as described in this Privacy Policy. In addition, please review our Terms of Service, which govern your use of the Service.

The Service is operated in the United States. If you are located in the European Union, Canada or elsewhere outside of the United States, please be aware that any information you provide to us will be collected within the United States. By using or participating in the Service, and/or providing Flex.io with your information, you consent to this transfer.

Information that Flex.io Collects

Flex.io collects the following information:

Personal Information You Provide Through the Service. Personally identifiable information is information that identifies you or could reasonably be used to identify you personally (such as your real name, address, phone number, or e-mail address). Providing personally identifiable information is voluntary. You may, however, not be able to use the full functionality of the Service if you do not provide certain information. Flex.io collects personally identifiable information that you provide during your use of the Service, including:

  • information for registering or managing a user account, including, but not limited to, email address, name and password information that we store so you can access and use the Service;
  • information for using our online store, including your name and contact information. We use credit card information only to pass on to our credit card processors and do not store the credit card number after the purchase is complete;
  • information you provide when you sign up for any other services (e.g., newsletter or marketing offers) offered on the Service; and
  • information collected when you contact us via online methods (providing feedback, sales questions, support requests, etc.) or offline methods (e.g., telephone).

You may have the opportunity to provide us with the personally identifiable information of a friend (or a friend of yours may provide Flex.io personally identifiable information about you), such as if you chose to invite others into the Service or email a friend a link, notice or other special feature from the Service. Unless required for the Service (e.g, inviting a new user to share a pipe), any email address that you supply to Flex.io for those activities will not be retained, or used, for other purposes unless otherwise disclosed to you at the time the information is collected. We encourage you to send items from the Service only to recipients who are your friends or family or persons with whom you have a relationship and who would expect such information, so that it does not seem like we are soliciting them.

Data Files. We may collect and store the information and data you upload or access with the Service and metadata related to it. We do this in order to provide functionality within the Service such as activity history and data previews.

Log Data. Flex.io automatically records information regarding visitors to its website and each visitor’s activity on the Service. This information may include, but is not limited to your IP address, the time and date of your visit(s), the pages you visit, the frequency of your visits and the length of stay on each page, your browser type, and information that identifies any linking or referral web page visited prior and/or subsequent to visiting our website.

Cookies. We use cookies to collect information and improve the Service. Cookies are text files used to identify users and possibly to prepare customized web pages for the user. We may use “persistent cookies” to save your registration ID and login password for future logins to the Service. We may use “session ID cookies” to enable certain features of the Service, to better understand how you interact with the Service and to monitor aggregate usage and web traffic routing on the Service. You may configure your browser to reject cookies but, if you do so, you may not be able to use the full functionality of the Service.

How Flex.io Uses your Information

Personal Information. Flex.io will never sell or rent any of the personal information or data that you provide to us to any third party. Flex.io uses the personal data you provide in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Policy. If you provide personal data for a certain reason, we may use the personal data in connection with the reason for which it was provided. For example, if you contact us via email, we will use the personal data you provide to answer your question or if you wish to make a purchase, we will use the credit card information you provide to process the payment. Also, if you provide personal data in order to obtain access to the Service, we will use your personal data to provide you with access to such services and to monitor your use of such services.

Flex.io may also use your personal data and other personally non-identifiable information collected through the Service to help us improve the content and functionality of the Service, to better understand our users and to improve the Service. Flex.io may use this information to contact you in the future to tell you about services or updates we believe will be of interest to you. If we do so, each communication we send you will contain instructions permitting you to “opt-out” of receiving future communications. In addition, if at any time you wish not to receive any future communications or you wish to have your name deleted from our mailing lists, please contact us as indicated below.

Aggregate Information. Flex.io may use non-personally identifiable information for many reasons, such as system administration, marketing analysis, to audit use of the Service and to report aggregate information to our business partners. Flex.io may associate your IP address or other non-personally identifiable information with personally identifiable information that you provide, but Flex.io will use this aggregated information solely for Flex.io’s internal business purposes, subject to this Privacy Policy as it pertains to personally identifiable information.

Analytics. We also collect some information (ourselves or using third party services) using logging and cookies, such as IP address, which can sometimes be correlated with personal information. We use this information for the above purposes and to monitor and analyze use of the Service, for technical administration, to increase functionality and user-friendliness, and to verify users have the authorization needed for the Service to process their requests.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

Your Use. We display your personal information in your account area and elsewhere according to your actions, such as sharing a pipe with a colleague. Any information you choose to provide should reflect how much you want others to know about you. Please consider carefully what information you disclose and your desired level of anonymity. You can review and revise your account information at any time. We may share or disclose your information with your consent, for example if you use a third-party service to access your account (see below). Through certain features of the Service, you may also have the ability to make some of your information public. Public information may be broadly and quickly disseminated.

Service Providers, Business Partners and Others. We use certain trusted third-party companies and individuals to help us provide, analyze, and improve the Service (including but not limited to data storage, maintenance services, database management, web analytics, security, payment processing, customer success and service improvements). Flex.io may share personally identifiable and non-personally identifiable information with entities that perform functions on behalf of Flex.io. For example, as of the date of this Privacy Policy, we utilize Amazon Web Services to store and process some of your information, Stripe for payment processing, Segment, Google Analytics, and Mixpanel for analytics and Intercom for communications; we may remove these service providers or add other service providers at any time. These third parties may have access to your information, including personally identifiable information, only to the extent it is necessary to perform their duties and functions, and subject to this Privacy Policy.

Third-Party Services and Applications. The Service allow you to integrate various online third-party services (“Third-Party Services”). In order to take advantage of this feature, you may need to authenticate, register for or log into Third-Party Services through the Service or on the websites of their respective providers. When you enable linking between or log in to Third-Party Services through the Service, we will collect relevant information necessary to enable the Service to access the Third-Party Services and your data and content contained within the Third-Party Services (“Login Credentials”). We store your Login Credentials long enough to enable linking to the Third-Party Services. When you enable the Service to link content and data between Third-Party Services, the Third-Party Services will provide us with access to certain information that you may have provided to the Third-Party Services, and we will use, store and disclose such information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and the rules you set to govern the linking. However, please remember that the manner in which Third-Party Services use, store and disclose your information is governed by the policies of such Third-Party Services, and Flex.io shall have no liability or responsibility for the privacy practices or other actions of any Third-Party Services that may be enabled within the Service.

Legal Requirements. Flex.io may disclose your personal data if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to (i) comply with a legal obligation, (ii) protect and defend the rights or property of Flex.io, (iii) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of the Service or the public, or (iv) protect against legal liability.

Business Transfers. Flex.io reserves the right to disclose, share, assign and/or otherwise transfer user information, including without limitation personally identifiable information, in connection with a merger, acquisition, consolidation, the sale of substantially all of its assets, or any other corporate change or restructuring, whatever form it may take.

Non-private or Non-Personal Information. We may disclose your non-private, aggregated, or otherwise non-personal information, such as usage statistics of the Service, and use this information for both commercial and non-commercial purposes.

Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed at children and Flex.io does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under thirteen (13) years of age unless the collection complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”). If you are under thirteen (13) years of age, do not send any information about yourself to Flex.io. If Flex.io discovers that a child under the age of 13 has provided Flex.io with personally identifiable information, Flex.io will use commercially reasonable efforts to delete that child’s personally identifiable information from its system.

You may leave the Service by clicking on certain links on the Flex.io website. Many of these links take you to websites and online content that are not operated by Flex.io and are beyond Flex.io’s control. Some of these links may even include Flex.io’s logo as part of a joint marketing arrangement. If you click on these links, you will be taken to a third-party website. Flex.io has no control over and is not responsible for the content of any third-party sites to which you link. In addition, these other websites have their own privacy policies and practices that may differ from Flex.io’s, and we encourage you to review the privacy policies of any other website you visit.

The security of your information is important to us. Flex.io takes commercially reasonable steps to secure its systems and to secure your personally identifiable information on our systems, including limiting access to the personally identifiable information contained on our servers and using the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol when processing credit card information. Unfortunately, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. Therefore, Flex.io makes no warrant regarding the security of any information you transmit to Flex.io and you do so at your own risk.
